I had to buy Pennzoil syncromesh because not even the GM dealer had any. The pennzoil is a direct replacement for the GM part number. I used the GM synchromesh fluid years ago in a Mustang Cobra's T-45, which had the 1-2 shift grinding problem. When I replaced the Ford fluid with the GM synchromesh, the grinding virtually disappeared, even when power shifted. It costs around $9 a quart, best I remember.
