East Hartford, CT - The Foodshare truck will be in the parking lot to distribute the food. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring your own bags and be prepared to possibly wait in line.Founded in 1982, Foodshare is the regional food bank serving Connecticut's Hartford and Tolland counties, where more than 119,000 people struggle with hunger. Foodshare is a member of the national organization Feeding America, along with more than 200 other food banks nationally. In partnership with the food industry, donors, community MealConnect is a new food rescue platform from Feeding America that helps Foodshare connect surplus food to our partner programs. Drive-Thru Distributions Contactless emergency drive-thru food distributions are running now through August 31 in nine towns across the state. Connecticut Foodshare works through a network of food aid partners and programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, residential programs and day programs serving adults and children. Combined, there are more than 600 partners and programs that offer food to neighbors in need. To find a program in your city or town use find the nearest Mobile Foodshare distribution, along with the dates and times that food is . given out.
