Sprint. Catriona Ann Le May Doan, OC (born December 23, 1970) is a retired Canadian speed skater and a double Olympic champion in the 500 m. She served as the chef de mission for Team Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Catriona has garnered many other significant titles including four World Sprint Championships at 500 metres (1998, 1999, 2001, and 2002). As well, she captured 25 gold medals, 7 silver, and one bronze in World Cup races. Along the way, she was selected as Canada's Outstanding Female Athlete in 1998, 2001 and 2002. LeMay Doan's combined time in the two-day event was 1 minute 14.75 seconds. Monique Garbrecht-Enfeldt of Germany won the silver, 19-hundredths of a second behind LeMay Doan.
