Moondog is one of the mascots of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The other mascot is Sir CC. Moondog's name comes because Cleveland is known worldwide as the Rock & Roll city. Famed Cleveland radio disc-jockey Alan Freed coined the phrase "Rock & Roll" and sparked a music explosion in the 1950's. Freed often referred to himself as the "Moondog" and Moondog and Sir C.C. are the mascots of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sir C.C. is a swashbuckler character, similar to The Three Musketeers.
