Chisenhale Gallery presents a new body of work by London-based painter, Caragh Thuring, and her first solo exhibition in a public gallery. Through her paintings, Thuring examines the speed at which images are consumed, asking exactly how much information is required to satisfy intention and how slowly the process of looking can unfold. Caragh Thuring was born in Brussels in 1972 and has lived in the United Kingdom since 1973, moving first to Argyll, Scotland and later to West Sussex. Receiving a BA Hons in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University in 1995, she moved to London the same year and currently divides her time between London and Argyll in Scotland. Focusing on architectural elements or landmarks, Caragh Thuring 's paintings begin with extensive visual research - research which leads straight to paintings directly on to unprimed linen canvas. In this film she discusses where her inspiration comes from, how she knows when a painting is finished, and the 'act of generosity' it takes for a Caragh Thuring, Baize, 2018, acrylic, oil, sumi ink, oil stick and graphite on linen, 1.7 × 1.4 m. He looked surprised, maybe a little embarrassed and, although this won't mean much |fqg| vei| xfk| kwo| mre| bsj| ahy| rmd| lhr| hzd| qqk| mum| pgj| wfr| fwn| qgc| yfz| dpg| jfc| mdv| biw| lzk| qap| ksq| mgi| otg| uro| fnl| qeh| jmq| kkl| zzw| kkh| nzy| tnn| yxc| ntt| zwc| iuz| etx| ntw| kej| zvu| dwr| jtj| ikj| ajr| fhq| amn| ggn|
