Stretching across the full expanse of upstate New York, the Erie, Champlain, Oswego, and Cayuga-Seneca canals are among our nation's great successes of engineering, vision, hard work, and sacrifice. In the Capital Region, watch a boat "lock through The Towpath Trail in the City of Cleveland stretches 5 miles, and connects to the trail in the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga Heights. The Towpath Trail heads into Cuyahoga Valley National Park just south of the reservation.
