Chapter 15: Arrival of Imam Husayn in Karbala. On Thursday, the 2nd of Muharram 61 A.H. Imam Husayn camped at a place in the region of Naynava called Karbala. On the following day Umar bin Sad bin Abi Waqqas Zohari reached there from Kufa with 4000 soldiers and encamped opposite the camp of Imam. The Al-Hussein Shrine Courtyard in Karbala, Iraq is a stunningly beautiful and historically significant place. It is the burial site of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Imam Hussein, and his family, and is a place of pilgrimage for millions of Muslims around the world.
