S Ramesan Nair, a poet-lyricist that contributed to over 150 Malayalam movies and devotional songs has passed away in Kochi, Kerala. He was 73 years old and was suffering from cancer when he later S. Ramesan Nair (3 May 1948 - 18 June 2021) was an Indian lyricist and poet who worked predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. Over his career he wrote songs for over 170 films and over 3,000 devotional songs outside of the films. He debuted with the movie Pathamudhayam in 1985. He was a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2010 and the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 2018 S. Ramesan was born in Vaikom in the Kottayam District, on 16 February 1952. He started writing poems during his childhood. [1] He had his primary education at St. Joseph LP School, Palliprathussery and Govt Boys High School, Vaikom. [2] After that he studied at St. Michael's College, Cherthala, Maharaja's College, Ernakulam and Ernakulam Law S.
