For over 30 years, PFLAG San Jose / Peninsula has maintained a scholarship program for students residing in or attending school in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. We started with $500 in awards and currently award five to seven $6,000 scholarships each year. The grand total is more than three-quarters of a million dollars given to worthy Founded in 1973, PFLAG is the first and largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. PFLAG's network of hundreds of chapters PFLAG Santa Fe: PFLAG Santa Fe is Santa Fe's chapter of the national PFLAG organization, which is a support, education, and advocacy organization for LGBTQ people, as well as their families, friends, and allies. It is the largest grassroots-based family organization of its kind in the country. PFLAG Santa Fe seeks to celebrate and support the PFLAG, a grassroots organization, was founded in humble beginnings. Based on Washington, D.C., PFLAG is governed by a 21-member board of directors. PFLAG's outreach surpasses peer support meetings, further providing online and telephone outreach to family members and friends in need of assistance in accepting their LGBTQ loved ones. The PFLAG of Jacksonville Scholarship Program has awarded over 345 scholars over the past 25 years with more than $421,000 in unrestricted funds. Through generous donations from the community we are able to award LGBTQ+ scholars from the Northeast Florida area with up to $2,000 in unrestricted funds.
