The genus name Glaucilla has been used for the two traditionally Pacific species with multiseriate cerata, G. marginata and G. briareus (Thompson and McFarlane 1967). Bergh proposed that G. marginata was a north Pacific species, whereas G. briareus was found in the south Pacific.
