The inception of this temple is said to have an interesting part when the deity appeared in the king's dream and revealed about the idol. The king then found the idols of Lord Subramanya and Lord Narasimha and Ghati is the place where Subramanya Swamy performed penance in the form of a snake. He did penance in these mountains before fighting with the demon Tharakasura. This is the same place where Lord Subramanya prayed Lord Narasimha Swamy to offer protection to the Naga family from Garuda.
