Gert Robijns (b. Sint-Truiden, Belgium, 1972) first attended the Hogeschool Sint Lukas Brussel from 1992-1996 and then did further research in the department of fine arts of the Jan van Eyck Academy, Maastricht (NL). Later he participated in the artists residency programmes: PS1, New York, and the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin. An amusing double-sided poster announced Belgian artist Gert Robijns's first large solo exhibition, "Never Left Right." The front showed a young boy winking with his right eye; the back, the same boy winking with his left eye. The poster played on one of the strongest binary oppositions that structure our daily existence: the difference Gert Robijns , Hij nam deel aan twee kunstenaarsresidentie programma's: de PS1 in New York en het Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlijn en sinds 2001 is hij gastdocent aan het KASK in Gent.
