ドナルド・バード （ Donald Byrd 、 1932年 12月9日 - 2013年 2月4日 ）は、 アメリカ合衆国 ミシガン州 デトロイト市 出身の ジャズ ・ トランペット 奏者。 来歴 牧師 の子として生まれたバードは、幼い頃から ゴスペル をはじめとする黒人音楽にごく自然に触れていた。 高校在学中にはすでに、 ライオネル・ハンプトン と共演した。 ウェイン州立大学 、 マンハッタン音楽院 で学んだ後、1955年初リーダーアルバムをトランジション・レーベルから発表した。 その後 ニューヨーク で ジョージ・ウォーリントン のバンドに入る。 1955年末には ジャズメッセンジャーズ （ 英語版 ） に ケニー・ドーハム の後がまとして迎えられた。 He attended Cass Technical High School.
