To work on the project, the painter installed himself in the Disney Studios in Burbank, California, where he set about drafting the screenplay and creating a series of drawings and oil paintings. Destino is an animated short released in 2003. It is unique in that its production originally began in 1945, 58 years before its eventual completion.
