The decision to administer ACTEMRA should take into account the potential benefit of treating the CRS versus the risks of short-term treatment with ACTEMRA. COVID-19 - It is recommended that ACTEMRA not be initiated in patients with an absolute neutrophil count (ANC) below 1000 per mm 3 , platelet count below 50,000 mm 3 , or ALT or AST above • For patients with CRS, ACTEMRA is administered as an IV infusion. • For adult patients with COVID-19, ACTEMRA is administered as an IV infusion. • For adult patients with COVID-19, ACTEMRA should not be administered in patients who are not receiving corticosteroids. • IV infusion: Use a sterile needle and syringe to prepare ACTEMRA. The recommended dose of ACTEMRA for CRS patients is 8 mg for every kg of body weight if you weigh 30 kg or more or 12 mg for every kg of body weight if yo u weigh less than 30 kg. ACTEMRA can be given alone or in combination with corticosteroids. The recommended dose of ACTEMRA for treatment of adult patients with COVID-19 is a single 60- Inject ACTEMRA. Hold the ACTEMRA prefilled syringe with 1 hand and pull the needle cap straight off with your other hand (See Figure E). Do not hold the plunger while you remove the needle cap.
