Brett Ratner sounds like such an improbable choice to direct a large-scale ancient Greek epic that, going into his "Hercules," one could only hope for a modest improvement on Renny Harlin's Hercules. Based on the graphic novel by Steve Moore, Brett Ratner's Hercules (boy, we love typing those three words) aims to show us the real Greek hero: the man rather than the demi-god, Hercules is certainly better than The Legend Of Hercules, and despite the weak story and ridiculous interpretations it is quite enjoyable. It is far from art, but there is a lot worse. You can choose between the cinema and the extended cut version when you buy Hercules on Blu-ray. Viewed on DVD.
