Open hand drumming is a drumming technique where the drummer plays the drum kit with their hands positioned in a way that allows them to reach all the parts of the kit without crossing their hands. The technique primarily refers to playing the hi-hat with the left hand instead of the right hand. Open-handed drumming refers to a method of playing a drum kit .
