Lumines: Electronic Symphony is a game developed by Q Entertainment and published by Ubisoft for the PlayStation Vita.. The game was first announced in Cologne, by publisher Ubisoft at Gamescom 2011, with its first hands-on showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2011. The playable demo featured The Chemical Brothers song "Hey Boy Hey Girl" and Kaskade's 4 AM as the game's first confirmed artists and songs. Distorted vocals, echoing bass, bleeps, zaps, a cracking snare drum, and bucketloads of effects, this track sounds like an Art Of Noise song on a nightmarish acid trip. If you already own it you likely don't need to revisit it on a modern machine as the re-release doesn't really add anything you haven't seen before, but this is a great way to discover the magic for the first time. Lumines is the kind of game that temporarily rewires your brain, splicing together its ability to recognize visual patterns and audible rhythms simultaneously and forcing you to do the hard but Lumines for PSP is probably my personal favorite game ever, and Electronic Symphony was one of the better sequels. The first one you play is definitely the best for Lumines though as you get to experience slowly but steadily getting better at the game.
