So you started work at a hair salon at age 11- what did you learn from your experience in the Errol Douglas on his East End childhood, favourite hair era and unusual sources of inspiration. For a boy born and raised in London's East End, Errol Douglas explains that 'hairdresser' certainly wasn't the most straightforward career choice. "It was quite a challenging place to grow up," he explains, "if you even mentioned the Hairdressing chose Errol Douglas like a bolt of lightning, and for Errol it struck at the age of just 10. Over 4 decades later he's still devoting everything he's got to the incredible industry. It's been Errols' lifelong ambition to represent his craft, and pre-Covid travelled the world doing just that. In addition, 2008 saw Errol awarded an MBE for services to hairdressing - an exciting acknowledgement of his work educating and nurturing new talent within the industry. He was also named Cosmopolitan's Ultimate Man of the Year 2008.
