Paula Julie Abdul (born June 19, 1962) is an American singer, dancer, choreographer, actress, and television personality. She began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers at the age of 18 and later became the head choreographer for the Laker Girls, where she was discovered by the Jacksons. After choreographing music videos for Janet Jackson, Abdul became a choreographer at the Spellbound is the second studio album by Paula Abdul, released on May 14, 1991 via Virgin Records. The album was a success, peaking at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, making Paula performing "Straight Up" on tour. To support Paula Abdul's second studio album "Spellbound" she launched her first headlining worldwide tour. The tour kicked-off on October 26th, 1991 and ran through August 7th, 1992.
