Steely Dan is an American rock band founded in 1971 in New York by Walter Becker (guitars, bass, backing vocals) and Donald Fagen (keyboards, lead vocals). Originally having a full band lineup, by the end of 1974 Becker and Fagen chose to stop playing live and continue Steely Dan as a studio-only duo, utilising a revolving cast of session Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter. Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is in danger of becoming one of the biggest guitar heroes since the days of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Peter Green. Certainly his English fans have taken him to heart and at all Dan's concerts there have been yells for Jeff and cries of "Skunk!" The CD, co-produced with CJ Vanston, features his incredible guitar work with songs of many different genres and features performances with Michael McDonald, Jonny Lang, Rick Livingstone and Clint Black.
