In later apocalyptic and rabbinic literature they are conventional figures for those opposed to the people of God. This agrees with Zechariah 14:2 and Revelation 19:17-19. Ezekiel 38:16 and 39:1-6 tell us that Israel will be invaded by Gog, the prince of prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal (Ezekiel 38:3).
