The Massacre of Monte Sole. 29 September 1944, at dawn German troops, including both SS and Wehrmacht soldiers, commanded by Major Walter Reder, raided the area between the Valleys of Setta and Reno, in Emilia Romagna. Commonly known as the massacre of Marzabotto (from the most affected municipality), it was carried out by Nazi-Fascist troops Monte Sole Historical Park. The Park spans over a 6,300 hectares area, comprising territories of the municipalities of Marzabotto, Monzuno and Grizzana Morandi.
