The University of Manitoba Price Faculty of Engineering is actively working on initiatives to increaseIndigenous representation and ideology in engineering education. The initiatives aim to create ethical and equitable space for Indigenous Peoples, by Farhoud Delijani, PhD, P.Eng. The housing of gestating sows in groups requires sound information about the adapted design of the pen floor. Slatted concrete floors are commonly used for effective drainage of manure but can cause feet injuries and lameness. The course was led by faculty members Shawn Bailey and Farhoud Delijani from Architecture and Engineering Faculties respectively, with the support of faculty leadership.
