Warren John Fahey AM is an Australian folklore collector, cultural historian, author, actor, broadcaster, record and concert producer, visual artist, songwriter, and performer of Australian traditional and related historical music. He is the founder of Folkways Music , Larrikin Records and a folk music ensemble, the Larrikins . Larrikin Lad: Directed by Pat Fiske, Rebel Penfold-Russell. When people meet Warren Fahey they often recognize him as 'that music man'. Warren is a larrikin who brought world music to Australia and Australian music to the world. As one of our foremost cultural historians, specializing in folklore, Warren Fahey sees himself as a 'recycling unit' and interpreter who makes relevant what has gone Warren Fahey has been singing, producing, promoting, history writing and just about anything else about folk music in Australia for decades. He was the founder of the Larriken label which supported so many Australian Folk Singers. This was one of his earlier albums first produced by EMI in 1977 and later released on Larrikin label. It has Fahey Collection. Warren Fahey (b. 1946) was born in Sydney and educated at Marist Brothers College, Kogarah, and Sydney Technical College. His family was musical and he became an enthusiastic performer and listener of folk music while still at school.
