SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Magnetar Capital said on Monday it has hired quantitative investment specialist Andrew Sterge to build a reinsurance business for the $3 billion hedge fund firm. Andrew Sterge, who became head of AQR Capital Management's new reinsurance business in July, was previously the CEO of Pulsar Re, which was the reinsurance division of Magnetar. After that, he founded AJ Sterge Investment Strategies and led and maintained responsibility for the insurance-linked and reinsurance investment strategy following its acquisition by Magnetar.
