Much-anticipated rehearsal images showcasing the Oliver! company in action have been released by Leeds Playhouse today featuring the ensemble cast of actors creating the world of Victorian London. The spectacular production will open at the Playhouse from 24 November 2023 to 27 January 2024 and promises to take audiences on a musical adventure. Leeds Playhouse has once again made a spectacular, though not unmitigated, success of its Christmas show, Oliver!, running for two doubtless near-sell-out months until the end of January. Let's start with the major success, the youngsters. A large young company show discipline, talent and enthusiasm in abundance as workhouse kids, Fagin's Production images have been released for the Leeds Playhouse revival of Oliver! - staged in the round this winter. Adapted from Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver! follows the journey of a young orphan boy as he sets out on a dangerous journey from a workhouse to the bustling streets of Victorian London. Directed by Leeds Playhouse artistic Oliver is just one of many children in this production, and they all have bags of enthusiasm. In fact, at points, their energy even outshines the adult ensemble. Felix Holt's Dodger is the Oliver! landed at Leeds Playhouse, in Quarry Hill, at the end of November and has been wowing audiences for the last fortnight. How long is it?
