Today the San Jose Giants Inaugural 5k Race took us through Kelley Park this morning. I ran through beautiful redwood trees, past a historic home, past an old Southern Pacific Train engine, past an old gas station. It was a nice short run through part of the park. Very nice! San Jose History Park and Happy Hollow flank Kelley Park and offer diverse enjoyment for all ages.There is also a well maintained bathroom facility, creek, and seemingly unused amphitheater in the park. Kelley Park History: The park was once a farm and orchard owned by the Kelley family, and in 1951 they sold the farm to the city of San Jose. The city intended to develop the park for a municipal golf course but they lacked sufficient funds, though the nearby professional disc golf course serves as an homage to the original purchase.
