Educational Advocacy Program. A C.A.S.A. Volunteer can also be designated as the educational rights holder for the child/youth they are currently appointed to in order to make educational decisions for their youth. The Role of the Educational Advocate There are 30 hours of online training. Volunteers also complete a background clearance before they are sworn in by a Juvenile Court Judge and take an oath to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Currently, courts are closed, but volunteers are still providing mentoring and advocacy for youth.
