Gauri has also worked for Apple Computer and has a bachelors degree in computer science and art from the University of Michigan. Some of her notable designs involve computers that work by falling to the floor or after being ripped apart. She completed her SM in 2005. Nanda came up with the product, dubbed "Clocky," as a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she participated in the MIT Media's Lab's Object-Based Media Research Group.
