HMS Indefatigable was one of two Implacable-class aircraft carriers built for the Royal Navy (RN) during World War II.Completed in 1944, her aircraft made several attacks that year against the German battleship Tirpitz, inflicting only light damage; they also raided targets in Norway.The ship was transferred to the British Pacific Fleet (BPF) at the end of the year and attacked Japanese Tweet. HMS Indefatigable was the nameship of the Indefatigable class of battlecruisers. She took part in the hunt for the German battlecruiser Goeben in August 1914 and the first bombardment of the Dardanelles, before being lost at Jutland. She was commissioned into the 1st Cruiser Squadron of what became the Grand Fleet in February 1911. For the next hour and more HMS Indefatigable engaged the French ship-of-the-line single-handedly. In her favour was the fact that in the heavy sea that was running Lacrosse hardly dared open his lower deck gun-ports, and thus lost use of his 36-pounders, his most formidable weapons. The Droits de l'Homme carried 18-pounders in her upper tier Indefatigable was re-commissioned at Devonport on 17th June, 1913 for service with the First Battle Cruiser Squadron..
