Alice was born in 1906, the daughter of Arthur Floriano de Toledo (1873-1935) and Elisa Novaes Soares (1881-1928). In 1925 she married Walther Sommerlath from Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg. They had four children. She lived to be 90 years old and passed away at Drottningholm Palace in 1997. She was the mother of the current Queen of Sweden.
